A little bit about the background of ‘dolls and dragons’

In 1976 we opened a family run ladies and childrens boutique called ‘Audreys’ in the picturesque market town of Builth Wells in Mid Wales. Our aim then, as now, was to create a relaxing and fun shopping environment in which to purchase original clothing, accessories and gifts.

The business soon outgrew its premises, so when an adjacent building became vacant we moved the childrens department into its own custom made premises. This allowed us to expand our ranges to include a large selection of traditional toys, wooden toys, and rag dolls from companies such as Le Toy Van, Big Jigs, Melissa and Doug, Lilliputiens, Papo, Galt, Happy Hopperz, John Crane and Powell Craft.

Consequently after many requests by customers from near and far wanting to purchase on-line, we took the plunge and our website ‘’, dedicated solely to our gorgeous selection of toys was born.

What we aim to offer:

Our ethos has always been to provide nostalgic and traditional childrens toys, particularly those made from wood, that parents will remember with fondness and children will grow to love.

We believe wholeheartedly that toys should last for years rather than weeks, so everything is handpicked for its quality, value for money, and timeless appeal. Batteries definitely don’t feature here!

We aim to provide traditional toys, wooden toys and rag dolls to suit all ages and pockets, with toys ranging from a few pounds to over £100.00.
